bowing
on the tube is kurt masur's farewell concert with the new york philharmonic. they're playing bolero, which i remember not liking the first time i heard but having it grow on me. i love in the beginning when the violinists are pizzicato-ing with the violins in their laps, like they're playing banjos.
seeing an orchestra perform reminds me of some of the non-aural pleasures of classical music. i don't mean the white tuxedos, but like the beauty of bowing, that they're all moving together like grain blowing in a field.
